Logistics and Supply Chain Management - PM (Naveed)

This subject will provide students with an understanding of how buyers and sellers manage risk with a variety of international payment methods and cargo insurance, the knowledge of commercial documents and their completion, export packaging, cargo security, dangerous goods and alternative transport solutions enable students to properly cost and quote on a shipment.

In this subject, students will be provided with the required tools and core knowledge relevant to Freight Forwarders starting their careers. Topics covered include: understanding freight forwarding, transportation geography, terms of trade, and land, air and ocean freight. This textbook is used in the first program required for the CIFFA Certificate and Advanced Certificate.

In this subject, students will learn about growing impact of risk on supply chains, its management and how to mitigate its effects.  The subject covers both the possible effects that disruptions can cause and how to plan for them, discussing risks varying from traffic congestion to major environmental disasters.

In this subject, students will be introduced to an overview of transport, warehousing and assembly logistics, including order picking, packaging, handling and management. The key focus is on the management techniques in transport and warehousing and the logistics-focused perspective.

In this subject, students will be introduced to supply management process from a managerial perspective. Students will examine recent advancements in supply chain fraud management, artificial intelligence, analytics, procurement automation and robotic process automation.

In this subject, students will understand how to integrate managerial issues with practical applications. Students will walk through recent developments in inventory management, including Just-in-Time Management, Materials Requirement Planning, and Total Quality Management.

This subject will guide students through a comprehensive guide to treaties, shedding light on the rules and practices surrounding the making, interpretation, and operation of these instruments.  Students will explore trade relations to greenhouse gasses, shipwrecks to cybercrime, treaties structure and the rights and obligations of states, international organizations and individuals.

This subject will expose students to the concepts of international logistics services.  The subject covers the concepts that are important to managers who are actively exporting or importing goods, or are otherwise involved in international trade opportunities.

This subject will introduce high-level strategy and concepts while giving students the practical tools necessary to solve supply chain problems.  Using a strategic framework, students are guided through all of the key drivers of supply chain performance, including facilities, inventory, transportation, information, sourcing, and pricing.
